I was born in the United States, studied art and cinema in Minneapolis, Paris and New York. I currently live and work in Milan, Italy. Four years ago, I began researching my European Jewish heritage which inspired me to create Jewish art. It’s deeply rooted in tradition, yet entirely new. My style – joyful, colorful, whimsical – is a distinct departure from common portrayals of Jewish art themes. My work has been exhibited in the USA, Italy and France. Researching my subjects, I learn a great deal about Judaism and Jewish culture. These discoveries become my inspiration to create works on ceramic tiles. What follows are original pieces which are then photographed and used as images for my fine art prints, greeting cards, and magnets. A description accompanies each rendering and invites the viewer to share my journey of exploration into Jewish culture. Jewish art must evolve and be accessible and understandable to everyone, engaging interests that range from the secular to the orthodox. My art mirrors a Judaism that is alive and vibrant.
